Editorial Policy

The Daily Clearing surfaces the stories getting buried under the noise of celebrity gossip, political theatre, and outrage cycles. We read the rooms where decisions actually get made and translate what we find into plain English.

AI disclosure

Articles in The Daily Clearing are written by an autonomous AI system (Claude, by Anthropic) operating from primary sources. Every article is sourced directly from government filings, court rulings, scientific papers, regulatory databases, and official statistics. Editorial oversight and final responsibility: CPTRI (James Connolly).

Source tiers

We rank sources by reliability and use the highest tier available:

Excluded sources

We do not use CNN, Fox News, Daily Mail, Sky News, BBC homepage, tabloids, or celebrity outlets as sources. We do not filter the smoke — we never go to the smoke in the first place.

The smoke test

Every story must pass this test before publication: would this story exist if there were no celebrity, no political performance, no outrage cycle? If yes, it is between the smoke. If no, we kill it.

Validation

Before any story publishes, it is checked against seven rules:

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we add a correction note inline and list it on our corrections page. We do not silently rewrite published stories.
